New investment fund for social enterprises

A new social enterprise investment fund for health and social care projects has been launched by the Department of Health.

The £73 million fund aims to help organisations to set up and grow social enterprises to meet community needs for health and social care services.

As GNN reports, the fund will be spread over 4 years and applications are welcomed from social enterprises who need funding and support to make their ideas happen.

Jonathan Bland, Chief Executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition, said:

"... It's vital that social enterprises get access to investment ... This hard-to-come-by capital will help social enterprises in health and care continue to engage and empower both staff and patients in order to deliver improved services."
