July washout is a boom for e-retail
July saw a massive 80% hike in e-retail sales, according to new statistics.
The Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) Index revealed that recorded sales were £1.86 billion higher than in July 2006. The wet weather is thought to have influenced the strong sales as it forced people indoors and online, the Retail Bulletin reported.
An IMRG spokeswoman said that IMRG was surprised by July's growth.
