Brands get a boost from being healthy

Brands that respond to consumer demands for healthier products have shown strong UK sales, according new figures.

A study conducted by TNS Worldpanel and Marketing magazine found that Kellogs was the top grocery brand, with sales up 4% to £550 million, so reports the BBC.

Walkers Crisps and Coca-Cola, which both launched healthier versions of their products, also did well.

Researchers found that the launch of Coke Zero had helped the Coca-Cola brand to boost sales by 7% in the year to April 22.

Walkers' introduction of baked crisps and reduction of saturated fats in its products helped to increase sales by 5%.
