Forum to tackle construction deaths
A forum is being put together to tackle the number of deaths in the construction industry.
Work and Pensions Secretary Peter Hain is bringing together employers, unions and other construction groups on 17 September to discuss how the death rate can be reduced.
The latest figures for deaths in the industry show they reached a five-year high of 77 in the last 12 months. There has been a 28% increase in the past year, Workplace Law reported.
