Fewer barriers to going green
Businesses will soon face fewer planning hurdles if they want to install technology such as solar panels and wind turbines to create renewable energy.
New planning rules are being drawn up, which will look to remove the barriers currently putting off businesses from installing equipment for micro-generation.
Communities Secretary Hazel Blears has asked a consultancy to look at including the technology as 'permitted developments', which would allow them to be installed without specific planning permission, Workplace Law reported.
