WEEE petition launched
A campaign has been launched to change new regulations on electrical and electronic waste because of fears they will damage small businesses.
The Independent Trade Association of Computing Specialists (ITACS) believes the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive will have a disproportionate impact on small businesses forced to take back goods and dispose of them.
ITACS says small firms will end up paying up to ten times more per retail pound to dispose of electronic equipment than larger businesses, Workplace Law reported.
It has started an online petition, which is backed by the Federation of Small Businesses and the National Association of Specialist Computer Retailers.
