Sweet success for honey sales
Honey is catching up with jam, which is Britain's favourite sweet spread.
Sales of honey grew by 14% between 2004 and 2006, according to analysts Mintel, as shoppers bought into the trend for natural and organic food.
Shoppers spent £67 million on honey last year, compared to £89 million on jam and £52 million on third-placed marmalade, Sky News reported.
