Welsh tourist firms go green

Nine out of ten Welsh tourism businesses say that being environmentally friendly is important to them.

The same number practised some sort of recycling, while 80% had put measures in place to conserve energy and water.

The study, by Visit Wales, also highlighted the importance of tourism to the Welsh economy. It brought in almost £3.3 billion last year, icWales reported.

Almost 10 million tourists came to Wales from elsewhere in the UK last year, while 1.1 million visitors came from overseas.
