Small firms shun social networking
Small business owners are turning their backs on the Internet for networking despite the popularity of social networking sites, according to a new survey.
The Barclays Local Business survey also revelaed that traditional methods for making new contacts - golfing, social clubs and pubs - are out of favour.
John Davis, marketing director for Barclays Local Business, said:
"Perhaps it's down to the fact many small businesses are sole traders and organised events allow you to meet others, and discuss issues face to face, something a chat room will never be able to do."
