Second postal strike to start
A second 24-hour postal strike starts today (Thursday) after the Communication Workers Union (CWU) and Royal Mail failed to reach a solution in their dispute over pay and modernisation plans.
The strike is due to begin at at 7pm and follows on from last month's 24-hour stoppage, after the attempts to restart talks were unsuccessful.
The union has rejected a 2.5% pay offer and claims that Royal Mail's modernisation plans will lead to the loss of around 40,000 jobs, the BBC reported.
