London retail sales rise
Retail sales in London jumped by more than 10% in June compared to a year earlier.
The British Retail Consortium's (BRC) London Retail Sales Monitor said there had been a 10.3% increase, despite lower levels of footfall.
Wet weather and clearance sales attracted shoppers, who continued to show the pattern of buying more items on fewer trips.
