Going out for an English

Following in the footsteps of BBC comedy series Goodness Gracious Me, a celebrity TV chef is hoping to persuade Indians to go out for an "English".

As reported on BBC World, Manju Malhi's new 40-part television series, which will be shown in Delhi, aims to promote bangers and mash, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie, among other English "delights".

However, the chef plans to add spices to some dishes to make them more appetising to the Indian palate.

Ms Malhi claims that while there are thousands of Indian restaurants in the UK, there isn't a single British restaurant in Delhi.
