Firms not encrypting data
Up to a quarter of business wireless local area networks (WLANS) do not encrypt their traffic, according to a report by RSA Security.
The firm said businesses were opening themselves up to data theft, identity theft and denial of service attacks because they were not taking adequate precautions.
Businesses are being advised to ensure that data is encrypted, both on laptops and when it is passing through a network, icBirmingham reported.
