Women's wealth comes from enterprise
Women are becoming richer through success in business rather than inheritance or marriage, according to a new report looking at female wealth.
Barclays Wealth found that most affluent women made their money through their own enterprises, especially through earnings and business ownership or through personal investments.
Women's growing economic power is reflected in the most recent Sunday Times Rich List, which saw the number of women featured grow from 81 to 92. The number of female millionaires in Britain is also predicted to outnumber of male millionaires by 2020.
Barclays Wealth Insights: A Question of Gender looked at the 600 wealthy individuals to draw its conclusions.
