BRC criticises ready meals report
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) says a new report fails to recognise the work done by retailers to offer healthier food and tell consumers about the products they're buying.
The BRC was reacting to a report by Which? that looked at the fat and salt content of ready meals. It said that the report did not recognise the initiatives such as product development, labelling and promotion.
A spokesman said:
"British retailers are leaders in promoting healthy eating. They deserve the credit for that. They have made huge strides in offering healthy food choices, reformulating products and informing customers."
