Ten women, whose businesses have contributed £25 million to the area and employ 246 people, have been presented with Inspiring Women awards.

They were honoured at an event to mark ten years of the women's enterprise agency Train 2000, which works in partnership with Liverpool City Council.

Since it started, the partnership has helped with the creation of 180 new businesses, icLiverpool reported.
