Welsh firms need leadership help

Business leaders in Wales need a helping hand when it comes to management styles.

They need to look more closely at leadership, how it is viewed and how it is developed.

That was one of the themes at a conference organised by the Western Mail and the University of Glamorgan.

Academics said that because someone had reached the top in their organisation, they considered themselves to be a good leader but that this was not necessarily the case.

However, the conference was told there was not a one size fits all approach to leadership but that different organisations needed different approaches, depending upon the stage of their development they were at.
