Grant to develop cider farm's business

A family cider farm is raising a glass to the future after a £89,000 grant helped it to build a new restaurant for visitors.

Rich's Cider Farm in Somerset received the grant from the South West of England Regional Development Agency (RDA). It is the second grant the farm has received from the RDA to help to develop its business.

The farm, which has been in the same family for more than 50 years, is also developing a new cider to take advantage of the renewed interest in the drink.

It has 50 acres of its own apple orchards and buys in apples from across the county to make cider.
