Local pies are a supermarket hit
A traditional family butcher is celebrating the success of its pies at ASDA.
South Shields-based Dicksons started supplying its meat pies to eight of the supermarket giant's stores a few weeks ago. They proved so popular, they will now be sold in 22 ASDAs in the north east.
The pies almost immediately outsold all other brands in ASDA's Boldon and South Shields stores, icNewcastle reported.
