Good customer service is paramount
More than seven out of ten (76%) consumers say they would desert a business due to poor levels of customer service, according to a report by the British Standards Institute (BSI)
It also found that 91% of people would return to a company which had offered good customer service, while 79% said they would also recommend the business to a friend.
The BSI has introduced a new standard, BS 8477 - Code of Practice for Customer Service - as template for good practice.
