Slowdown concerns for catering sector
Pubs, cafés and restaurants are being warned that growth in the number of meals being eaten outside the home is slowing down.
A study by consultants Horizons says there was just a "marginal" growth of 0.2% in the number of meals served away from home in 2006, compared with 2005.
However, revenue growth stood at 2.1%, or £12,417 million, for the same period, according to the Horizons 'UK Foodservice Industry in 2006' report.
