Scots firms demand level playing field in procurement
It is essential that public agencies in Scotland give small businesses an equal chance to win lucrative public sector contracts, according to a lobbying organisation.
The Scottish branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) issued the call to more than 130 public agencies in a letter.
It wants public bodies to document what they have done to make it easier for small businesses to secure contracts.
Regulations were introduced in Scotland last year to ensure there is a level playing field for smaller enterprises looking for a share of the £8 billion a year of public money spent on goods and services.
