Lads' mags code of conduct launched for retailers
An informal code of practice has been put together for newsagents and retailers selling 'lads' mags'.
The Association of News Retailing (ANR) acted amid concerns that the publications can cause offence to some shoppers.
Although not 'top-shelf' products, the ANR says the covers and content may upset children or parents with youngsters.
It recommends that such magazines are not displayed at children's eye level or next to children's comics and magazines. When there are space constraints, the ANR recommends that potentially offensive covers are partially overlapped by other publications.
