Dragons' Den inspires new household device

An entrepreneur is confident his business idea will be a hit - after all the panel members on Dragons' Den decided to invest in a very similar product.

The product that succeeded in the Den - a remote-controlled household energy-saving device - is similar to the SAVASOCKET product, which is already being made by Electratech Ltd and is close to being publicly available.

The device, which has been developed after almost two years' work and is now awaiting certification, stops devices wasting energy if they are put on standby mode.

Electratech Ltd's owner said:

"I was thrilled and intrigued when I saw the other company's prototype product on Dragons' Den for a number of reasons.

"It is great encouragement to know that five well-known business investors can see the potential both to consumers and the environment of this type of product."
