Construction firms miss out on recruitment savings

Construction businesses are failing to take advantage of recruitment and training savings by not getting involved in a national graduate support programme.

ConstructionSkills, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the construction industry, claims that many businesses could benefit from recruitment and training support by hiring graduates via the Inspire Scholarship programme.

The programme, which provides grant funding to help individuals gain construction qualifications, includes a trainee placement. ConstructionSkills believes that enlisting new recruits at this stage can save employers valuable time and up to £12,000 in recruitment and training costs.
