Employees waste work time online
New research reveals that employees waste four hours and ten minutes a week surfing the Internet and reading personal e-mails.
The research, conducted by Peninsula Businesswise, found that 80% of workers use the Internet for personal reasons when they should be working.
Recruiter Magazine reported that Peninsula recommends employers introduce stringent policies to explain the times when their staff are permitted to use e-mail and the Internet, and to make it clear what accepted usage includes.
