Week of events for local food producers
Local food producers are being urged to raise their business profile by participating in the forthcoming Purple Love Week.
The initiative is aiming to persuade more people to buy locally produced food and to support independent food shops.
More than 500 independent delis, bakeries, butchers and farm shops will be taking part in the week of events, which runs from 10-17 February.
The name of the initiative was inspired by olives. Organiser Olives et Al says black olives are actually purple ones which have been "tampered with".
