More grant aid available

Small businesses across the north east are now eligible for money from the Selective Finance for Investment (SFI) initiative.

The money was previously only available to enterprises based within assisted areas, which 63% of businesses in the north east are.

The rules have been relaxed by Regional Development Agency One NorthEast (ONE), so that businesses anywhere in the region can apply for the money.

ONE's Ken Sampson said:

"I'm sure those companies, which under the old rules were excluded from grant support, will be taking full advantage of the changes by putting forward their case for SFI funding."
