Business site to beat the quiz shows

A business owner has set up a website aiming to make money from TV quiz show fans.

Geoffrey Okol has seen a business opportunity in providing a service for people who ring up premium phone lines to enter competitions like The Mint. They pay for the call, whether they get through or not, and often give an answer that has already been said dozens of times.

Such competitions have attracted a lot of negative publicity recently, with some viewers claiming they have become addicted to the shows and rung up phone bills that run into the thousands as a result.

Mr Okol is charging people between £2 and £4 to view his website, which shows all the answers already given.

He told the Eastern Daily Press:

"This way, you can guarantee you're not going to waste your money on an answer that has already been said four times."
