Roaming free with 3

Mobile phone network 3 has scrapped roaming charges for its British customers using their phones in seven foreign countries.

Users will not pay extra to make or receive calls or texts when they're in Australia, Italy, the Republic of Ireland, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden and Denmark - all of which have the 3 network.

The 'roaming' calls will be counted as part of the user's monthly call allowance under the Like Home scheme. Any calls over that will be charged at 20p a minute.

3's Christian Salbaing told the BBC:

"It underlines our commitment to fair treatment and reasonable pricing for all our customers."
