New business in focus
A couple who arrived in Britain via Venezuela and South Africa have put their home-based business in focus.
Opticians at Home was started by Izhak and Orly Simkin after Izhak's offer of a job in the north east fell through.
The business, based in Consett, County Durham, travels to clients to test their eyes and provide glasses. That means they can test elderly people in their own homes or visit people while they're at work.
Mr Simkin told icNewcastle:
"By offering complete eye testing on site, staff can be back at their work stations in about 30 minutes and we can also offer group discounts on eyewear."
