The lights go on in California
Illuminated underwear has created a dream job for one US businesswoman, and could be the next business idea to light up the UK.
Janet Cooke Hansen, a former project engineer at the Structural Dynamics Research Corporation in San Diego, California, established Enlighted Designs to create her dream job in the emerging field of 'light up' clothing design.
The company's designs combine her interest in fashion, art and technology, and feature everything from scrolling message bras to ties, hats, overcoats, shirts and even tuxedos.
Each item of clothing is illuminated by as many as 50 LED lights and powered by discreetly hidden batteries of between six and 12 volts.
