Demand for more skills training
Businesses could be left without a decent workforce unless more is done to improve the UK's skills base.
The Government's Skills Envoy, the former Confederation of British Industry (CBI) boss Sir Digby Jones, says skills training must become more accessible - and free, so businesses are encouraged to train their staff.
He told the BBC that a 'fiscal bribe', in the form of a tax incentive, should be made to encourage businesses - and especially small enterprises - to boost their workers' skill levels.
