Customers vote with their feet

Businesses beware - British consumers are becoming more likely to ditch services if they think they can get a better deal elsewhere.

That's the conclusion of a survey by MoneyExpert.com's January Switching Index. It found that 51% of people had changed a household service or personal finance provider in the second half of last year.

The price comparison website said the most commonly changed services were gas and electricity suppliers.

Spokesman Sean Gardener told icWales:

"No provider is safe from the axe if they don't have a competitive product or good customer service. Customers are not shirking from moving on if they are not happy."
