Virtual millionaire isn't just on paper

Cyber millions can become real - and it's not just a fairytale like Santa and the elves!

We reported in November on the phenomenon of Second Life, which is a virtual world peopled by 'Avatars'. People can recreate themselves as Avatars and interact with other fictional characters while trying out a host of new things - even starting a business. It's just like The Sims computer game, but for adults!

Some characters have indeed started profitable business ventures in cyberspace, and now Second Life has its first millionaire.

Anshe Chung, who was created by Ailin Graef, has earned a real-life fortune by developing property for rental and resale.

According to BusinessWeek online, this has led to a real-life spin-off corporation called Anshe Chung Studios, and led to millionaire status in real US dollars for Anshe's creator.
