Bless this bar
Publicans are used to dealing with spirits, but one bar-restaurant has gone one better and received a Buddhist blessing.
Jay Phanthamat and Patsy Kansikam, who run the Rising Sun pub in Thame, Oxford, booked three Buddhist monks to bless the new restaurant extension to bring it luck and prosperity.
Jay, who spent a month as a Buddhist monk in 2000, told The Publican:
"It's tradition. I'm a Buddhist myself and the blessing will bring luck to the business."
