Vista at the end of the month

The new Microsoft Vista operating system will be available to business customers at the end of the month and domestic users at the end of January next year.

It's the software giant's first new version of Windows for five years.

Microsoft is producing six versions of Vista - three for businesses, two for home users and one for developing countries, the BBC reported.

Customers who buy computers for Christmas with the current XP system installed will receive coupons, so they can upgrade to Vista for free or for a discounted price when it becomes available.
