Shoppers want local stores
Having a local shop is really important to people - even if they also use the big supermarkets.
So says a poll carried out for the Convenience Tracking Programme, which found 56% of people thought it was “very important, and 88% said it was at the least “quite important to have an independently owned and operated local store.
The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) said the report reinforced the belief that shoppers want a choice of big brands and local shops.
The full results of the survey will be revealed next month.
