A new scambusters team is being put together by Trading Standards officers in London and south east England to catch the rip-off merchants and cold callers.

The initiative follows similar ones in north east England and the Midlands.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is funding the new team to the tune of £1.8 million.
