EU open for business
A new law that will knock down trade barriers for small businesses is being welcomed as one of the most important pieces of European Union (EU) legislation for years.
Under the Services Directive, service providers like plumbers and caterers will be able to trade across EU borders.
The Directive must now be ratified by the individual member states and is expected to come into force in 2010, the BBC reported.
