Ethical consumers lead the way
Organic food really does seem to be the way to win over customers, whether you're growing it or stocking it.
Shoppers are now spending £29.3 billion on 'ethical' products, according to the annual Co-operative Bank's Ethical Consumerism report.
That's more than the £28 billion a year spent on beer and cigarettes, the BBC reported.
The figures, from 2005 and based on data from the Office for National Statistics, showed an 11% increase in spending on items such as organic food and green energy.
