Not enough is being done to protect people from the threats of Internet fraud and money laundering scams, according to research group Chatham House.

The '419' scam - where the con artist pretends to have a lot of money that needs to be taken out of the country and promises rich rewards to people who helpfully supply their bank account details - costs the UK around £150 million annually. The average victim is taken for £31,000.
