If you're surrounded by old mobile phone handsets, you can now sell them on at a profit.
Carphone Warehouse is launching its own auction website so people can get rid of their mobile cast offs.
My Mobile Auction aims to deal with Britain's "mountain" of old mobiles. Carphone Warehouse hopes to compete with eBay by charging users a flat listing fee of £1.25 plus 3% of the final sale price, but it will be free until 17 November as an introductory offer.
Part of the fee will be used to pay for checks to ensure that the phone isn't stolen.
Tristia Clarke of Carphone Warehouse told This Is Money:
"Customers tend to change their phone every year so this offers the perfect opportunity to sell old handsets."
