Dotcoms go back to the future

There's a new buzz in the air for wannabe dotcom entrepreneurs as the industry goes back to the future.

'Second Chance Tuesday' events are springing up across London - where ideas people and the investors with the cash to make their dreams a reality are brought together.

The event name is an homage to the 'First Tuesday' events which the BBC says were "little more than business speed dating" in the days before the Internet bubble burst.

The latest trend has been inspired by multi-million pound sales such as Skype to eBay and YouTube to Google.

But Judith Clegg, from event organiser Glasshouse, believes the whole cuture has changed as well.

She said:

"Broadband access is mainstream, so this time around, there is real consumer demand. Many ideas that proved unsustainable six years ago are now viable. Start up costs for businesses are also much lower."
