Asian entrepreneurs on the up

Britain's young Asian entrepreneurs are making a mint - because they have the right attitude to business.

They are very ambitious, but work smarter rather than harder, according to Spinder Dhaliwal.

Ms Dhaliwal, who lectures in entrepreneurship at the University of Surrey and compiles the Eastern Eye Rich List, believes things are very different for second-generation British Asians.

She told the BBC:

"The first generation looked at enterprise as a survival strategy. They were faced with prejudice, so they pooled money from the community to start their businesses."

Ravi Gehlot had made his first million as a nightclub promoter in Ayia Napa by the time he was 18. Now 23 and one of the UK's youngest self-made millionaires, he runs OneOffice, which offers online services to small firms.
