Cooking up a business

You can't have missed the furore caused by Jamie Oliver and the Government's subsequent decision that schools should provide healthy lunches.

Well, thanks to two mumpreneurs, kids could soon be growing up able to make their own healthy food.

Nikki Geddes and Becki Stevens, who met at their children's nursery, have come up with Kiddy Cook, which teaches children about the science of cooking and how to follow recipes.

Nikki told the Manchester Evening News:

"The aim is to show children that food can be exciting.

"We conduct volcano experiments with bicarb and vinegar, fizzy fountains with mints and Coke, and lots of things with taste and flavour to make them not so frightened of food."

The pair are hoping to turn their idea into a national franchise within the next two years.
