Shoppers feel safe online

More good news if you sell online - a new study reckons the vast majority of UK shoppers feel safe buying over the Internet.

People in the north were most confident - 84% in Edinburgh and 82% in Leeds, dropping to 73% in Birmingham and London, according to the survey by shopping reward portal MutualPoints.

But most people thought the Internet security industry didn't do enough to warn people about potential risks.

MutualPoints spokesman Stephan Tate told icBirmingham:

"Online threats are constantly evolving and keeping up to date and protected is a challenge for many users.

"The security industry needs to find a way of demystifying online protection so that it is accessible to everyone."
