Fancy some calf?

It's enough to raise the hackles of many people, but pubs are being urged to put veal back on the menu.

The controversial meat still makes many consumers think of small calves kept in dimly-lit rooms in tiny crates, but according to organic farmers, that bears little resemblance to today's reality, The Publican reported.

Now TV chefs including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Sophie Grigson are backing a new campaign and have contributed recipes to The Good Veal Guide.
