A number of fake escrow sites - websites that receive the buyers' payment and confirm it has been cleared before the goods are sent out - are using genuine company names and numbers, and claiming to be "licensed by Companies House".

Companies House has received a number of complaints from people who have been scammed and has now issued a warning.
