Advertising without ageism
If you're planning a recruitment advert in the near future, be very careful how you word it - or you could be hauled over the coals due to the forthcoming age discrimination legislation.
From 1 October, when the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 come into force, you could find yourself in big trouble if you specify you want a "mature" or a "young" person to work for you.
Norwich law firm Cozens-Hardy & Jewson has been holding seminars for its business clients to help them work within the new law.
Spokesman Andrew Spencer told the Eastern Daily Press:
"We realise how daunting the vast amount of legislation being passed at the moment which impacts on employers can be, especially for smaller businesses."
